Volleyball tops Scots, now 8-0 in MIAC

The 10th-ranked Tommie volleyball team rallied for a game-one victory enroute to a 3-0 sweep of visiting Macalester in MIAC play Friday night in Schoenecker Arena. The Tommies won 30-28, 30-15, 30-11.
St. Thomas (21-4 overall, 8-0 MIAC) trailed 27-25 in game one before scoring five of the game's last six points. On the match, Emily Foster had 31 assists and 10 digs; Aly McConnell had 13 digs and five aces; Katie Kremer had 10 digs and five aces; Katie McCaffrey had nine kills and four blocks; and Kristin Storrs had nine kills and two blocks.
Kate Fahje had 10 kills and Kiera Coulter had 13 digs for the Scots (3-18, 0-8).
UST plays Saturday at Hamline (3 p.m.)
