The 10th-ranked St. Thomas volleyball team couldn't close out host UW-Eau Claire in game four and eventually lost a five-game decision Tuesday night in non-conference play.
The Toms led 24-16 in the fourth game but lost 34-32, then fell 15-12 in the deciding fifth game. Katie McCaffrey has 27 kills, seven blocks and hit .688, and Emily Foster has 58 assists.
The Tommies (20-4) have lost three five-game decisions this season. Eau Claire (16-7) has won eight of its last 10 games and avenged a 3-0 loss to the Toms five weeks ago.
St. Thomas is home Friday to face Macalester (7 p.m.); plays Saturday at Hamline (3 p.m.); and is home next Tuesday to play St. Benedict.
