Senior center Isaac Rosefelt had 16 points and 11 rebounds and senior forward Mike Keating added 16 points and nine rebounds as the St. Thomas men's basketball team scored a 78-53 win at host St. Olaf in MIAC men's basketball play Monday night in Northfield.
The No. 3-ranked Tommies (15-2 overall, 11-1 MIAC), playing their fourth road game in 10 days, shot 64% from the field (33-of-52) and improved to 7-1 in January. They used runs of 12-0 and 16-0 en route to a 43-19 halftime lead. Keating had 14 first-half points and Rosefelt added 12 second-half points.
St. Olaf (7-10, 4-8) shot just 30% from the field (18-of-60) and it lost its sixth in a row to the Toms.
Senior guard Bryan Schnettler went 3-for-4 from 3-point range and scored 13 points. He now has 248 3-pointers in 71 games and needs three to break the St. Thomas school record of 250 treys set in 2000 by Kip Sparby.
UST moved back into a share of first place with St. John's (11-1 MIAC), which lost 66-63 at St. Mary's.
The Toms are home Wednesday to face Hamline (5:45 p.m.), then play Saturday at Macalester (1 p.m.).
