Men's Basketball sails past Oles, 83-51

Senior center Isaac Rosefelt had 24 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocks as No. 7-ranked St. Thomas cruised to an 83-51 victory over St. Olaf in MIAC men's basketball game at UST's Schoenecker Arena.
Rosefelt had 10 points during an 18-7 run in the last 6:00 of the first half that built a 43-29 lead.
Rosefelt, who played his freshman season at Division I Bowling Green, now has 999 points and 647 rebounds in 58 games over three seasons with the Tommies. UST is 43-15 since he joined the team.
Senior guard Bryan Schnettler had 21 points and senior forward Mike Keating had 16 points and 14 rebounds and four assists. It was the second double-double of the week for Keating.
The Tommies (4-0 overall, 2-0 MIAC) shot 54% from the field (34-of-63) and improved to 24-2 at home over the last three seasons.
They jumped to leads of 16-4 and 23-12 but the Oles eventually pulled within 25-22 with 6:03 to go in the half. But Rosefelt had two dunks and two layups in the late run as the halftime lead ballooned to 14 points
Rosefelt had nine points during a 16-5 run early in the second half.
Mark Bergstrom scored 10 points and John Butala scored eight for the Oles (2-3, 0-1). St. Olaf had a modest 10 turnovers but shot 27% from the field in the second half and 34% on the game (19-of-56) and converted just 10-of-18 free throws.
