Sophomore Jessica Katch scored 19 points, including 11-of-12 at the foul line, as the Tommies built a 23-point lead and held off Northland, 53-49, in the consolation game of the Redlands Tournament.

Nadine Orozco's 3-point basket with :29 remaining capped a 17-0 run for Northland. UST missed two free throws with 25 seconds to go, but Northland missed a game-tying 3-point shot seconds later.

Melissa Keiser's free throw with :04 to play iced the win for the Tommies (1-1). Keiser scored 11 points, freshman Andi Olson had five points and 10 rebounds off the bench, and Katy Sanders and Shannon Kane each had seven rebounds.

UST led 41-22 at halftime and moved ahead 50-29 on Sanders' basket with 7:35 to play. But the Toms didn't make a field goal thereafter, missing their last five shots, yet held on to even their season record.

The Tommies play Sunday Nov. 26 at UW-River Falls (3 p.m.).
