Steve Dolan graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1992. As a student, Dolan was the first conference athlete to win an NCAA decathlon championship (1992). He earned a total of 13 All-MIAC honors during his career, set the MIAC and St. Thomas records in decathlon, and set St. Thomas records in pentathlon and javelin.
