HOW IT HAPPENED
St. Thomas steadied after Presbyterian's early 6-2 start, with Hayden Tibbits tying it at 6 and Carter Bjerke hitting a 3-pointer for a 9-6 lead. After the teams traded ties, Jonovan Wilkinson's steal set up Julius Wade's 3-pointer at 9:54 to put the Tommies ahead 20-18, but the Blue Hose moved back in front 27-24 on Iverson King's 3-pointer. Tibbits answered with a 3-pointer at 5:24, then assisted Brogan Madson's fast-break layup and Tim Franks' 3-pointer during a 10-0 St. Thomas run that Jeremy Lorenz capped with a jumper for a 34-27 lead at 2:59. Presbyterian cut into it with Jaylen Peterson's tip-in and Triston Wilson's dunk at 2:59, but Lorenz and Franks later each made two free throws before EJ Smith's 3-pointer at :07 sent St. Thomas into halftime ahead 38-36.

After a Blue Hose free throw made it 40-37, St. Thomas put together a 10-0 run, with Tibbits and Franks hitting 3-pointers before Lorenz scored inside and Tibbits made two free throws for a 50-37 lead at 15:21. Presbyterian worked back into the half with paint scoring and later consecutive 3-pointers that trimmed the margin to 61-55, and a tip-in and layup kept the home team within 64-59. St. Thomas answered with perimeter shooting, as Franks hit 3-pointers at 7:06, 4:57 and 2:38 while Caden Wilkins and Lorenz added baskets to push the lead to 77-64. The Blue Hose cut it to 77-70 with 1:33 left and later got within 85-78 on a 3-pointer, but the Tommies closed it out at the free-throw line for an 87-78 win.
