John "Doc" Dolan graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1957. At the University, Dolan was a four-year baseball letter winner and a captain of the 1957 team. He was a member of the 1956 MIAC champion baseball team. He was also a member of the football team, helping the 1956 team win a MIAC title with a 9-0 finish. His achievements that season include a 50-yard touchdown run that helped to secure a 12-7 win over Macalester.
