Dan Herget graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1941. He coached the baseball team while still a student and after graduation until 1943. He served as the Sports Information Director from 1945-1950, and had a big role in securing St. Thomas' first postseason football game (Cigar Bowl, 1949).
