Bernie Raetz graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1957. As a student, Raetz was named to the Little Catholic All-American team as a quarterback (1956) and was named conference MVP as a senior (1956). He was a member of the unbeated, 1956 MIAC champion team.
