Malissa LeClaire is entering her fourth season as the director of operations of the St. Thomas volleyball team in 2025.

LeClaire was a key contributor to St. Thomas Volleyball’s record-setting 2024 campaign, which marked the program’s most successful season since transitioning to Division I. Her dual role supported both the on-court execution and behind-the-scenes logistics that helped the Tommies secure 18 wins and their first-ever victory over a Power Four opponent with a 3-1 win against Iowa. LeClaire played a central part in the program’s preparation and operational efficiency as the team captured three consecutive non-conference tournament titles and went 3-1 against the Summit League’s top postseason teams—highlighted by a road win that snapped South Dakota State’s 22-game winning streak and a regular-season sweep of tournament champion South Dakota. Under her support, the Tommies led the Summit League in digs and ranked top three in opponent hitting percentage, assists per set, and kills per set, while earning a program-best three All-Summit First Team selections and a fourth consecutive All-Freshman Team honoree.

Prior to St. Thomas, LeClaire served as the graduate assistant coach at Winona State from 2019-21. She also served as an advisor for the Student-Athlete Services program while at Winona State. LeClaire earned her master's degree in educational leadership sport management in May 2021. Before Winona State, she spent a semester at Missouri State and played Division I beach volleyball from Jan. 2019-May 2019.

From 2015-18, LeClaire was the starting setter at Upper Iowa University. With the Peacocks, she was named second team All-Conference and the Upper Iowa Female Athlete of the Year in 2018. While at Upper Iowa, LeClaire obtained her bachelor's degree in exercise sports studies with an emphasis in administration and psychology in December 2018.

LeClaire is a native of St. Michael, Minn.
