University of St. Thomas Medical Staff Mission Statement

The Sports Medicine Department at The University of St. Thomas, under the supervision of the Team Physicians, will provide care for all student athletes through the prevention, recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. The department will utilize the best available resources, both on and off campus, to provide optimal care to the student athletes at The University of St. Thomas.

Services Rendered
St. Thomas Sports medicine focuses on the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of sports-related injuries. Our Sports Medicine medical team, which consists of 10 board certified athletic trainers, TCO physicians and orthopedic surgeons, TCO physical therapists, dietitians and mental health professionals provides an excellent level of comprehensive care to student athletes at the University of St Thomas.
  
Athletic Training Room Physician Clinic
    The University St. Thomas Primary Care Team Physicians will conduct weekly Athletic Training Room clinics. These physician clinics will be scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoon. Alternative appointments can be arranged based on physician availability. The University of St. Thomas Orthopedic Team Physicians will conduct on-site visits on an as needed basis.

Physical Therapy
    
There will be 12 hours of on-site physical therapy available for student-athletes.  Services will be provided by Twin Cities Orthopedics Physical Therapists and Sports Physical Therapy Residents.

Tertiary Care
    Clinicians with specialized or advanced training will be made available on site at the discretion of the treating Certified Athletic Trainer, Team Physician and/or Physical Therapist. 

Hours of operation for Athletic Training services are as follows
Summer Hours: 6 a.m. - End of workouts/as needed
School Year Hours: 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Certified Athletic Training Staffing: Start of first practice - End of last practice.
All other treatment/rehab time are scheduled by appointment with staff member.
