MILWAUKEE, Wis. – St. Thomas men's soccer (3-1-2) opened its unbeaten streak up to five games with a 1-0 victory over Milwaukee (1-2-2) on Saturday afternoon at Engelmann Stadium. Lorenzo Jacon scored the lone goal for the Purple and Moritz Krenc made four saves in his second consecutive shutout.
The Tommies put three first-half shots on goal in the opening 16 minutes, with Oliver Corris forcing two saves and Jacob Nokken adding another. St. Thomas added four more shots after the 30-minute mark, including attempts by Ignacio Canales Chamizo, Owen Marshall, and Lorenzo Jacon, but did not break through. Moritz Krenc made two saves for the Toms and ended the half scoreless.
Jacon scored his second of the season off Eliot Beaumale's assist at 51:43 to put the Tommies ahead 1-0 in the second half. The Purple had shots earlier in the half from Beaumale and Sam Moore, and Moore added another saved attempt at 62:24. Milwaukee pushed late, but Krenc made two saves after the 81st minute as St. Thomas finished off a 1-0 win.
The Toms are now unbeaten in their last five games since dropping their home opener to Detroit Mercy.
