Kathryn VanArragon shares tournament title, her third consecutive individual win
DAVENPORT, Iowa – St. Thomas women's golf's dominant start to the 2026-27 season continued despite its team winning streak coming to an end, as the Tommies finished third of 13 teams at the Diane Thomason Invitational, hosted by the University of Iowa at Davenport Country Club. Kathryn VanArragon kept her individual winning streak alive, claiming a share of her third straight title after tying atop the leaderboard with Bowling Green's Addison Kartusch.
St. Thomas opened with a 295 in the first round and hovered near the top five throughout the tournament, closing with rounds of 300 and 298. Nicole Reineke turned in her best finish since her freshman season, placing fifth.
VanArragon led the Tommies in the first round with a sparkling 67 (-4) and led them again in the final round with a 72 (+1). Her first-round 67, built on five birdies against one bogey, was the second-lowest round of the tournament in the 79-golfer field.
Nicole Reineke was the top Tommie in the second round, shooting one-under-par with three birdies and an eagle on her final hole. The fifth-place finish is her best showing since winning the individual title at the Big O Classic during her freshman season.
Genevieve Birkeland edged into the top 25 with a tie for 19th place, highlighted by a second-round 75 (+4). Amelia Morton placed 46th, and Ruby Reding did not complete her second round Monday.
Freshman Alyssa Raghuveer golfed well, posting a career-best 74 in the first round and finishing 31st while competing as an individual.
