Head Coach Ashley Lucas's thoughts following the season-opening Phoenix Open:
"Today served its purpose of being a nice rust buster for us. We really wanted to be controlled the first half of the race and then push the second half. A big emphasis for us was packing up and taking strength in our teammates and I think we accomplished that well. It was great to see some purple packs. It was great for Olivia (Pauly) to get the individual win and for the team to get the win. I think the freshmen also opened up really well and ran with a lot of confidence. We still obviously have work to do, but I am happy with where we are at right now."
UP NEXT
The women's and men's squads compete next on Friday, Sept. 18 at the Cyclone Open hosted by Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.
