No. 13 St. Thomas battles No.2 Ohio State in overtime loss

Minotti tallies 40 saves in net
ST. PAUL, MINN. - The No. 13 St. Thomas Tommies (7-4-0, 2-3-0) led late but fall to No.2 Ohio State Buckeyes (9-1, 6-1) 3-2 in overtime.
Julia Minotti had a career day in net tallying 40 saves. Whitney Horton and Chloe Boreen each chipped in a goal for the Tommies.
Scoring Summary:
First Period: The Tommies got on the board first, scoring just 43 seconds into the game. Freshman Whitney Horton tallies her third goal of the season off assists from Jenessa Gazdik and Chloe Boreen. The Buckeyes tied the game at one with three minutes left in the period.
Second Period: The game remained tied at one for the whole second period.
Third Period: Chloe Boreen gave the Tommies a 2-1 lead off passes from Rylee Bartz and Whitney Horton. Ohio State then tied the game at two off a powerplay goal to send the game into overtime.
Overtime: The Buckeyes then scored to end the game at 1:37 of overtime.
Top Tommies
Julia Minotti tallied a career-high 40 saves.
Whitney Horton (Edina, Minn./Edina) scored her third career goal and fourth assist. All of her goals have come on home ice.
Chloe Boreen netted her fifth goal of the season and chipped in her fourth assist.
Rylee Bartz and Jenessa Gazdik also tallied points for the Tommies.
