St. Thomas battles Minnesota State in loss

Tommies fall 3-0 to Mavericks
MANKATO, MINN. - The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team( 5-1-0) suffers their first loss of 2025-26 season to Minnesota State on the road (5-1-0) Saturday. The Mavericks scored first and held the advantage the entire contest, defeating the Tommies 3-0.
Scoring Summary:
First Period: Although neither team scored in the first, the Tommies recorded three shots on goal and Julia Minotti tallied 11 saves in the period. Defenseman Ellah Hause also recorded 3 blocks in the period.
Second Period: Minnesota State then broke the 0-0 tie eight minutes into the period to take a 1-0 lead. With two-minute left in the period, the Mavericks scored a power play goal to take a 2-0 into intermission.
Third Period: After the Tommies pulled Julia Minotti, the Mavericks scored an empty-net goal with three minutes left in the contest.
Up Next
The Tommies will be back on the road Oct. 17-18 as they take on St. Cloud State for their second WCHA series of the season. Puck drop is slated for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17 and 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18.
