Women’s Cross Country to run season opener Friday at Phoenix Open

First of seven season meets sends St. Thomas to Green Bay, Wis.
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- During the week students return to classes, St. Thomas women's cross country too will hit the course Friday, Sept. 6 to start its seven-meet 2024 schedule. A host of Tommie runners begin the 6,000-meter race at 4 p.m. from the Phoenix Alumni Course in Green Bay, Wis.

2023 Season Recap
Junior Molly Desotell continued to lead St. Thomas by earning her third career All-Summit League honor following an eighth-place finish at the 2023 Summit League Championships. She broke the program record in the 6K with a time of 21:21.30 at the championship and ran the fastest (17:31.0) and eighth-fastest (18:04.7) 5K times in the Summit League this season.
Junior Ava Pankratz earned the program's first ever Summit League All-Academic Team honor and finished second for the Tommies in four of five races. As a team, St. Thomas finished fifth out of eight teams at the Summit League Championship.

The Tommie women's and men's programs take a short trip to the Les Bolstad Golf Course on Friday, Sept. 20 to run in the Roy Griak Invitational.
