Deadline for 2024 class nominations is May 3
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The University of St. Thomas is currently accepting nominations for its 2024 Hall of Fame class, set to be inducted in November.
Nominations from alumni, the campus community and Tommie fans will be accepted via the following link HERE through May 3, 2024. Any nominations received after this date will be considered for the class of 2025.
The 2024 class will be the 18th group enshrined since the St. Thomas Athletics Hall of Fame was established in 1974.
Student-athletes become eligible for consideration five years after their class graduates and coaches, teams, and administrators become eligible five years after the Hall of Fame qualifications have been achieved.
CRITERIA/ELIGIBILITY
Membership in the Athletic Hall of Fame shall consist of those outstanding student-athletes, coaches, and administrators whose performance and dedication merit this honor. Individual nominees, in general, must be of good character and worthy of the award, who, through their actions, have shown support for the mission of the University.
A typical annual Hall of Fame class will have no more than four individuals and one team that will be inducted. Nominees can be living or posthumous.
Student-Athletes, teams, coaches, and administrators shall be eligible for the Hall of Fame by achieving any of the following (five-year waiting period after the graduating year for student-athletes or five-year waiting period after the Hall of Fame qualifications have been achieved for coaches, teams, and administrators):
Student-Athletes
· Individual national champion or member of a national championship team
· All-American (by NCAA recognized selectors)
· Conference or Region Player/Athlete of the Year
· U.S. Olympic Team Member or Olympic Medalist
· Pro or Collegiate Hall of Fame Member
· Professional or post-university achievements
Teams
· National championship team
· National tournament team
Coaches
A coach must have a profound impact on his/her team, athletic program, and the University of St. Thomas in addition to:
· Head coach of a national championship team
· National Coach of the Year, Region Coach of the Year, or multiple Conference Coach of the Year
· Accomplishments or contributions after leaving St. Thomas that distinguished the individual and the University
Administrators
· Must have brought distinction and honor to the University of St. Thomas
· Contributions or accomplishments while at or after leaving St. Thomas that distinguished the individual and the University
The 2024 St. Thomas Athletics Hall of Fame classic is scheduled to be inducted on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024. The ceremony will be held in the James B. Woulfe Alumni Hall, located on the third level of the Anderson Student Center, following the Tommie Football game versus Drake.
