Mrosko records 12 strikeouts in a complete game to earn Summit League Weekly honor
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Junior Jacob Mrosko was named the TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Pitcher of the Week by the league office on Monday.
The Chanhassen, Minn., native helped the Tommies to a 3-2 win over Southeast Missouri State in game one of Saturday's doubleheader. Mrosko threw career-best 12 strikeouts in a complete game, allowing just three hits and three walks.
The weekly award is the first of Mrosko's career. In two starts this season, Mrosko has recorded 17 strikeouts, 1.64 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .111 batting average in 11.0 innings. It also marks the first weekly honor by a Tommie this season.
The Tommies return to action traveling to Evansville, Ind. for a three-game series against Southern Indiana March 1-3.
