Track & Field ready for Summit Indoor Championships Feb. 23-24

St. Thomas part of eight women’s teams, seven men’s teams to compete in Fargo, N.D.
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Thomas track & field program is ready to compete at the 2024 Summit League Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fargo, N.D. Feb. 23-24.
Fans can follow along with live results HERE. Tickets for the event hosted at the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility are available HERE or at the door. Prices are as follows: Adults $10 per day | 17 and under $5 per day | 2 and under are Free.

Last season, the men's team finished in fourth place while the women's team took seventh place. For the men, Jack Rosner took second in the heptathlon while the distance medley relay of Colton Halla, Thomas Dundon, Cameron Heppner and Morey Smith also finished second. Molly Desotell earned a second-place finish in the 3000m last season with a time of 9:46.27.
This season's meet is scheduled to begin on Friday with multi events at 9:30 a.m. CT, followed by field events at 3 p.m. and running events at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, the men's heptathlon will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the field events at 11:30 a.m. and running events at 1 p.m.
St. Thomas' men's team currently features 15 top eight performances in the Summit League this season, including the best triple jump mark set by Isaiah Hopf and the second best time in the mile set by Caden Nordberg.
The women's squad has six top eight performances in the conference this season. The 4x400m relay of Hailey Hindt, Alexis Pratt, Olivia Keller and Alicia Belany hold the fifth fastest time while Desotell (Mile), Ava Pankratz (5000m run) and Taynian Walgrave (60m hurdles) each rank seventh in their respective events.
During St. Thomas' last meet, Desotell secured her third event win of the indoor season and Dundon ran the men's second fastest 600m dash to highlight the Snowshoe Open Feb. 16.
Desotell set a personal record in the mile with a time of 4:55.25 to win the event, which is the second fastest for the program since 2011. It was one of 14 top-three finishes and was one of 16 personal record set by the Tommie women Saturday.
Dundon took second in the 600m dash with a time of 1:20.11, 0.57 shy of the program record set in 2011. The men ended with four top-three finishes and saw eight personal records set overall.
