Wetter claims first career Summit Peak Performer of the Week

Junior middle blocker earns defensive award after 2-0 weekend
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Junior Megan Wetter's standout season continued Tuesday as the Summit League named the middle blocker this week's Defensive Peak Performer of the Week.
Wetter, from Monticello, Minn., paced the Tommie defense with 1.38 blocks per set in eight sets over the weekend. She led off with eight total blocks in the win at SDSU to go along with 10 kills and one error on a .409 hitting percentage, four digs and one assist. Wetter then totaled three blocks, all assisted, with 11 kills and no errors for a .550 hitting percentage, her third best of the season, against Kansas City.
Wetter has reached at least 10 kills in 12 matches this season and has hit above .294 from the floor in 12 of the last 13 matches. She has led the Tommies in blocks in 16 matches this season and in kills during five matches.
Tommie Volleyball went 2-0 with wins at previously undefeated South Dakota State and at Kansas City, helping the Purple to the program's first win over the Jackrabbits and to a season sweep over the Roos.
St. Thomas closes its 2024 season with a home weekend Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. against South Dakota State and Nov. 16 at 12 p.m. against Oral Roberts.
