SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of St. Thomas athletics and the Summit League will have a new streaming home in 2023-24. The conference, in partnership with Midco Sports, announced the launch of the Summit League Network (SLN) for the 2023-24 athletic season. The subscription-based network will allow fans to follow St. Thomas athletics at home and on the road while showcasing hundreds of regular and postseason tournament games.
"The relationship with Midco represents an exciting next chapter for St. Thomas and the Summit League," said St. Thomas Director of Athletics Dr. Phil Esten. "The new network will provide enhanced coverage and exposure to our department and allow Tommie fans and alumni to follow our teams nationwide. We are proud to be a part of this historic moment for our conference and look forward to strategically leveraging our new distribution channels to further advance our brand."
The Summit League Network, powered by the Midco Sports Plus app, will broadcast regular season conference and nonconference games during the upcoming year for St. Thomas volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, softball, and baseball. The network will also broadcast all postseason contests for the above sports along with championships for cross country, indoor/outdoor track and field, and swimming and diving. Exclusive Summit League content, including replays, highlights, interviews, and special feature stories will be available to Tommie fans through the Summit League Network and Midco Sports Plus app.
"This is a historic moment for the League, and these relationships will give fans a better experience to consume Summit League content, with more national exposure on CBS Sports Network and enhanced digital content through Midco," said Summit League Commissioner Josh Fenton. "In an ever-changing and complicated landscape of media rights, we believe the unique combination of CBS Sports and Midco helps the League and members align with these established priorities."
The Summit League Network will be a subscription-based network. The cost for a subscription is $9.99 per month or $79.99 for an annual plan. The fee provides fans and alumni with the opportunity to watch St. Thomas from a variety of devices through the Midco Sports Plus app, including phones, tablets, TVs, and web-based browser interference. Additionally, the app and its exclusive Summit League content will be available on AppleTV, Fire TV and Roku, allowing fans to sign in and watch through their account on multiple devices. Fans can subscribe at www.midcosportsplus.com.
In addition to teams sponsored by the Summit League, Tommie football will also have a new streaming partner in 2023. More information on the defending Pioneer League champion's new streaming home will be released in the upcoming days. St. Thomas men's and women's hockey will continue to be streamed through FloHockey and BTN+.
