Women's Tennis wins doubles but drops 6-1 score to Drake

Minneapolis, Minn. -- Tommie Women's Tennis claimed the doubles point as it won two of the three doubles battles, but Drake won some tight matches and swept the singles competition for a 6-1 win Saturday at the University of Minnesota Baseline courts.
The Tommies (0-2) were playing their second match of the day after a 4-3 loss to Bradley in the late morning. Drake improved to 4-2 on the season.
Nicole Snezhko and Monterey Knewtson won 6-4 at second doubles. Snezhko lost a tight 7-6, 6-4 match at fourth singles, and Knewtson lost a three-set decision at sixth singles.
Emme Johnson and Jannah ElNemr won 6-4 at third doubles. ElNemr lost 6-4 and 6-3 at second singles.
The Purple are back at the Baseline courts on Sunday at 2:30 p.m., to face at the University of Minnesota.
