Voegele earns final Defensive Peak Performer of the Week honor

Sophomore libero averaged 8.14 digs per set behind 33-dig performance Sunday
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Sophomore libero Ella Voegele earned the season's final TicketSmarter Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week following career performances at Oral Roberts and Kansas City.
Voegele, a native of Plymouth, Minn., totaled 57 digs over seven sets between the two matches, including a career-high 33 in four sets Sunday during a 3-1 win over Oral Roberts. Her 8.25 digs per set and 33 total digs against ORU set the program's Division I era record while she followed up the performance with 8.0 digs per set, 24 digs in three sets, Wednesday at Kansas City.
Voegele closed the season as the only student-athlete in the Summit League to rank among the top two in both total digs and digs per set. Her 33 digs against ORU was the second most for a single match in the Summit League this season. Voegele totaled eight 20+ dig matches and is currently the league leader in career digs per set among active athletes.
This is the first Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honor for St. Thomas this season. The Tommies finished the 2023 campaign 7-20 overall and 3-13 in the Summit League, improving both winning percentages from the past two seasons.
