Men's Cross Country does well in Pennsylvania race

Bethlehem, Pa. -- Seniors Biel Wiel and Zach Haire and junior Charlie Caven recorded top-35 individual finishes out of 400-plus runners to lead Tommie Men's Cross Country to a fifth-place finish in Friday's Brown Division of the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
The Lehigh Brown Division included two regionally-ranked Division I teams and six nationally-ranked D-III teams.
Despite missing injured senior Colton Halla, one of the team's top two runners, the Tommies scored 215 points for fifth place. They put five runners under 25:05 over the 8,000-meter course:

- Wiel clocked 24:37 for 30th place out of 405 finishers;
- Haire ran 24:38 for 32nd;
- Caven clocked 24:39 for 33rd;
- senior Morey Smith ran 24:54 for 53rd;
- freshman Caden Nordberg ran 25:04 for 67th;
- senior Adam McCollor ran 25:41 for 146th;
- freshman Sean McNiesh ran 26:27 for 257th.
Did You Know?
- Wiel posted an 8K cross country personal-best time by 13 seconds; Caven recorded a 13-second personal-best; Haire had a personal-best time of less than one second.
- Coach Pete Wareham's team finished ahead of ranked D-III teams Lynchburg and NYU and also topped D-I regionally-ranked Rider and UM-Baltimore County.
