El Nemr earns 6-4, 6-1 singles victory, Tommies fall 6-1 at Lewis

Romeoville, Ill. - St. Thomas Women's Tennis (0-2) fell to Lewis University (1-0) by a score of 6-1 on Friday evening in the first of three-straight days of competition.
"We have work to do not necessarily on the technical and tactical side but a lot on the mental side of the game," stated Head Coach Lois Arterberry. "We are still trying to figure out how to be confident when we compete and really own our talents. The more we compete, the more we will grow in that area. Tomorrow is a new day, and we look forward to using our take aways from today."
Sophomore Jannah El Nemr claimed the lone point for the Tommies with a 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 4 spot.
Ssenior Olivia Paradise teamed up with freshman Madeline Bremel and defeated the pair of Casey Smith and Anastasiya Salenko, 6-2 in the No. 1 doubles competition.
St. Thomas returns to action tomorrow afternoon at Northern Illinois before completing the three-match road trip at Chicago State on Sunday.
