Women’s Tennis shows improvement in first outdoor match of spring season

Jacksonville, Ala. – The St. Thomas Women's Tennis Team continues to show improvement in its spring season in its first outdoor match since October at Jacksonville State University. The Tommies fell by a score of 5-2.
"I was happy with the overall team performance today," said Head Coach Lois Arterberry. "It was another good win for (Shrichandrakala) Tentu, grinding it out in a third set. Monterey (Knewtson) also had a good win at line 5 winning in straight sets. This was our first outdoor match since October, and it was a challenge for the girls dealing with all the elements, but they did the best that they could. We have tons of takeaways going into the match against Alabama A&M. We are on the rise."
Tentu won in the No. 3 spot by scores of 7-6, 1-6, 10-6, it was her second win in her first three matches with the Tommies.
Knewtson won by scores of 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 5 position.
The Tommies return to action tomorrow as they continue their Alabama road trip at Alabama A&M University.
