Men's Soccer falls 2-0 at playoff-bound Kansas City

Kansas City, Mo. -- The Kansas City Roos needed a win or tie to secure a conference playoff berth, and they made that a reality here Saturday night with a 2-0 victory over Tommie Men's Soccer in Summit League play.
The Tommies (3-12-2 overall, 2-5-1 Summit) couldn't get untracked on offense. They were outshot 21-12, including an 11-3 count in shots on goal. Kansas City also had a 9-5 edge in corner kicks.
Kansas City scored in the 42nd and 55th minutes and claimed the league's fourth and final playoff spot. The Roos (6-4-5, 4-1-3) avenged a 2-1 loss to the Tommies on the road in 2021.
Tucker Mann had nine saves in goal for the Purple, who ended their season with the same win total as in 2021.
St. Thomas tied Southern Indiana for sixth place out of nine teams in the conference.
