Football sets future games with FCS opponent Southern Utah

St. Thomas Football has scheduled another future home-and-home non-conference series, this one with fellow Football Championship Series (FCS) program Southern Utah University.
The Tommies will play at the Thunderbirds' stadium in Cedar City, Utah, on Sept. 3, 2022. The programs will play again at O'Shaughnessy Stadium in St. Paul on Sept. 19, 2026.
Southern Utah just completed its 10th season as a member of the Big Sky Conference. It previously competed in the Great West Conference for football and The Summit League in all other sports.
St. Thomas is making an unprecedented move in all sports from NCAA Division III to Division I starting this fall. Coach Glenn Caruso's team debuts this September in Division I in the Pioneer Football League. St. Thomas' hockey teams also start play this fall in the WCHA (women) and CCHA (men) conferences, while the bulk of the Tommie sports will start competition in The Summit League.
Tommie Football has previously announced future games against four FCS opponents from the Missouri Valley Conference:
