Women's Tennis wins close ones, takes 9-0 road win

Tommie Women's Tennis extended its win streak to eight matches with Sunday's hard-fought 9-0 win at Macalester.
After starting the season with three losses to Division I teams, the Purple (8-3 overall, 6-0 MIAC) improved to 8-0 against Division III teams.
Nicole Snezhko won 8-7 at first doubles with teammate Jannah ElNemr, then came back to win a 10-7 third-set tie-breaker at first singles.
Brooke Hapuku won a 10-5 tie-breaker at No. 6 singles after winning at No. 2 doubles with Olivia Paradise, 8-5. Monterey Knewtson and Clare Palen also won at No. 3 doubles and at Nos. 4-5 singles.
"Our women played an extremely good match today, winning almost all the big points against a competitive Macalester team," said St. Thomas coach Ken Cychosz. "That's two great performances for the women in a row."
St. Thomas travels to Northfield Wednesday to face St. Olaf.
