Redshirt soph Colton Halla placed ninth in a five-mile time of 25:24 in a field of 128 runners to lead Tommie Men's Cross Country Friday in the Open Division race at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invite in South Bend, Ind.
St. Thomas placed second of 13 teams topping several D-I teams and the second-team group of several Power 5 programs. The Purple competed in the Open, the first of three Division I races on the day (Open, Blue and Gold divisions).
