Luke Radetic scored two goals, including the go-ahead score with 3:52 to play, to lift St. Thomas Men's Hockey to a 3-2 road win at Concordia on Saturday night in the championship game of the MIAC Playoffs in Moorhead.
Coach Jeff Boeser's Tommies are back in the NCAA playoffs for the first time since 2014 thanks to Saturday's win, which secured the MIAC's automatic berth.
The Tommies became the first No. 4 seed to win the league postseason tournament in its 35-year history. Hamline won as a No. 5 seed in 2015.
St. Thomas (15-10-3) has won five games in a row. It will learn its NCAA pairing on Monday when pairings for the 12-team field are announced at 9:30 a.m.
The Toms are expected to play next Saturday on the road in the first round.
Freshman Henry Baribeau, who stopped 29 of 31 shots in goal, is 5-1-1 with a 2.20 goals-against average in his last seven games to help spark the Tommies' late-season surge.
The Cobbers (14-11-2) tied the game with 4:35 to go in regulation, but 33 seconds later Radetic scored, assisted by Brett Gravelle. Radetic has five goals and five assists in his last nine games.
Jack Christensen scored the first goal for the Purple, who improved to 8-3 in one-goal margins and won their 10th road game of the season.
Gravelle and Johnny Panvica each recorded two assists.
