Women's Tennis falls 5-4 to Scots

Macalester swept three doubles matches and scored a 5-4 victory over St. Thomas in a late Friday night MIAC women's tennis match match at the University of Minnesota Baseline courts.
The Tommies (6-2 overall, 3-2 MIAC) played without a top-two player in senior Paige McLeod. Taylor McLeod, Natasha Hood, Katie O'Connor and Sarah Willkom won at Nos. 1-2-5-6 singles.
"The team started extremely slowly after Paige's last-minute withdrawal from the match," said Tommie coach Ken Cychosz. "But as usual now for this team, we fought all the way to the end. We were outmanned but that doesn't seem to matter for this group. It has a never-say-die attitude. It is a pleasure to coach this team."
The Purple play again Saturday at the Baseline courts against St. Catherine.
