Women's Hoops falls by 12 in semifinals
2/28/2020 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
Sophomore Brynne Rolland finished with 23 points and eight rebounds, but No. 20-ranked St. Thomas Women's Basketball fell 73-61 on the road to No. 16-ranked Augsburg in an MIAC playoff semifinal round game in Minneapolis.
Coach Ruth Sinn's Tommies (21-6) will await Monday's announcement of the Division III playoff field to see if they get an at-large berth. Five of their six losses have come against teams ranked in the top 16 nationally.
Rolland made all 10 of her shots from the floor and all three free throws. The Toms had a 35-26 rebounding edge, but were hurt by 26 turnovers and a 16-of-25 night at the foul line.
