Women's Hockey sweeps Concordia, alone atop league

Sophomore Eryn Cooley stopped 23 of 24 shots and 10 different players contributed points as host and No. 10-ranked St. Thomas Women's Hockey scored a 4-1 win over Concordia-Moorhead and a sweep of their weekend series.

Anna Solheim scored two goals for St. Thomas (7-2-3 overall, 6-0 MIAC). The Purple have allowed just 13 goals in regulation time in 12 games this season. They lead the conference race by one point over Gustavus and two over Hamline with 12 games to play.

The Tommies are unbeaten in their last 46 games (42-0-4) when they score three or more goals.

Maddy Fielder recorded the game's first goal, and Isabel Bianchi added an empty-net score in the closing minute.

St. Thomas has a long break until resuming its schedule Jan. 17-18 against St. Mary's.
