(P)lucky 13-0 run through MIAC for playoff champ Volleyball

11/9/2019 12:00:00 AM | Volleyball

No. 15-ranked Tommie Volleyball hit .243 and closed out a 13-0 run through the conference regular season and playoff chases with Saturday night's 3-1 win over St. Olaf at Schoenecker Arena.

The Toms won 25-22, 25-8, 24-26, 25-21 to claim the automatic berth into the NCAA playoffs. This marks the program's 14th trip to the NCAA postseason field in the last 15 seasons, all under Coach Thanh Pham.

The Tommies (29-4) have won 18 of their last 19 matches and improved to 9-0 at home this season.

The Purple will learn their bracket and assignment on Monday, but as the No. 1 in this week's NCAA region poll it's optimistic it could host an eight-team regional next weekend, possibly Thursday through Saturday.

Hannah Braun had 12 kills and hit .500; Fran Egan had 15 kills and hit .429; Grace Anetipa had 48 assists and three blocks; Madie Kroehler had 10 kills and 11 digs; Selena Levendoski had 11 kills and six blocks; and Ellie Meyer had 22 digs.
