Senior duo leads Men's CC to fourth at Iowa race

Seniors Karl Wachter and George McGivern placed in the top 15 to lead No. 33-ranked Tommie Men's Cross Country to fourth of 16 teams Saturday at the Wartburg Invite.
The No. 4-ranked host Wartburg team edged No. 3-ranked Washington (Mo.) for first place, 37-39.
Loras (121), St. Thomas (136), Gustavus (156), Central (165) and Drake (186) took the 3-4-5-6-7 team spots.
The Tommies put nine runners in the top 76. Wachter placed eighth out of 264 finishers in 26:33, while McGivern took 14th in 26:46.
Carl Kozlowski placed 41st (27:34); Biel Wiel took 55th (27:43); Mac Karrick placed 61st (27:51); Collin Kiley placed 65th (27:55); Keegan Sansone took 73rd (28:00); freshman Adam McCollor placed 74th (28:01); and freshman Zach Haire took 76th (28:03).
