Balanced Women's Soccer storms to 10th victory

St. Thomas Women's Soccer used points from nine differemt players Sunday en route to a 5-1 win over St. Scholastica at South Field.
Coach Sheila McGill's women (10-2-2) ran their home unbeaten streak to 21 games and their current unbeaten streak to seven.
For the second day in a row, the Tommies scored four first-half goals, and on the game received points from nine different players led by Kate Heimer's goal and assist.
Paige Cater opened the scoring in the third minute; Kaley Roberts scored in the 16th minute; Tessa Trettel connected in the 19th minute; Joan Kornvken scored in the 40th minute; and Heimer fount back of the net in the 53rd minute. Assists were scored by Heimer, Gaba Palazzo, Callie Haertle, Megan Zickert, and Kristen Epperly.
The Toms play Wednesday at home against St. Ben's (3:30 p.m.).
