The Tommies (9-1 overall, 5-0 MIAC) used first-half runs of 18-0 and 36-4 to build a 54-18 halftime lead.

This was the sixth time this season the Toms surpassed 80 points, led by 62 bench points. Their 17 treys made were their second most in program history. The Purple outscored Gustavus 51-9 from behind the arc.

Fifteen different St. Thomas players scored and 11 different Toms made at least one trey. The Purple shot 55 percent from the floor, made all eight shots at the foul line, and had only eight turnovers.

Inside players Elijah Hannah (11 points), G.T. Johnson (10) and Connor Bair (10) combined for 31 points and 13 boards while making 12 of 16 shots.

St. Thomas is home Saturday to play Hamline (3 p.m.).
