Mary Jo Peck received a nice surprise on Friday when she showed up in Hilton Head, S.C to cheer on the St. Thomas tennis teams.
The wife of longtime UST coach Terry Peck, Mary Jo has been battling cancer. The players wore pink on Friday in their respective matches as a sign of solidarity.
Terry's women's team used eight players and opened its trip with a 9-0 victory over Juniata (Pa.).
The Tommies (9-0) are scheduled to play four more matches in Hilton Head this week. They won all six singles matches in straight sets.
