Junior Tommy Anderson scored a career-best 14 points off the bench and St. Thomas shot 57 percent from the field and had only 12 turnovers in Saturday afternoon's 99-50 men's basketball home victory over Carleton in MIAC play at Schoenecker Arena.

The Tommies (6-1 overall, 3-0 MIAC), who have won six in a row, sank 16-of-33 behind the arc and received at least one made 3-pointer from 11 different players. Eighteen Tommies saw action and 16 scored, with the bench contributing 65 points. St. Thomas posted a 46-21 rebounding advantage.

The Toms fell behind 10-1 early and still trailed 19-18 before a 33-7 run just before halftime took control.

Henry Benson scored 11 points to lead Carleton (2-5, 1-3).

Tommie freshman guard Anders Nelson had 11 points, seven assists and five rebounds at halftime. He closed with 13 points and eight assists. Burt Dedstrom scored 10 points, Ryan Lindberg had nie and freshman Zach Theisen scored eight.

St. Thomas plays at Concordia-Moorhead on Wednesday, then closes its December schedule next Saturday night at home against No. 6-ranked UW-Stevens Point.
