St. Thomas teams went 13-0 last week in soccer, volleyball, football and hockey, and perhaps the sweetest victories came for Coach Sheila McGill's soccer team.
McKenna Peplinski and Mallory DeBoom scored goals to give No. 24-ranked Tommie Women's Soccer a 2-0 home victory over second-place Bethel Saturday afternoon at UST's South Field. The win gave UST the outright conference championship. That's three MIAC crowns in four seasons for McGill's teams.
The Tommies (16-2 overall, 10-1 MIAC) had scores a 5-0 road win Wednesday night at Augsburg. They needed a tie or win Saturday to claim the championship. They got their 11th shutout of the season and stayed unbeaten at home.
They playhost to an MIAC playoff game Wednesday at 2 p.m. at home.
