Junior center Hannah Spaulding sank 8-of-9 field goals and 7-of-8 free throws for a game-high 23 points to lead No. 14-ranked St. Thomas to Wednesday night's 95-37 home defeat of Macalester in MIAC women's basketball play in Schoenecker Arena.

St. Thomas (10-2 overall, 5-0 MIAC) broke to a 57-18 halftime lead en route to a season-high scoring total.

In extending their conference win streak to 39, the Tommies shot 56 percent from the floor while making 19-of-21 free throws, and had six different players sink at least one 3-pointer. They had only eight turnovers and built a 47-7 advantage in bench points.

Holly Hull scored 11 points to lead the Scots (4-7, 1-4), who shot just 25 percent from the floor and were outscored 24-6 from the 3-point arc.

UST freshman Kaia Porter scored 13 points, Lucia Renikoff added 12, Elsa Anderson scored 11, and freshman Madi Radtke chipped in 10 points.

St. Thomas is home Saturday to face Carleton.
