Charlie Donlin scored a go-ahead power-play goal with under 9:00 to play and Benjamin Myers stopped 29 of 30 shots as host and top-seeded Tommie Men's Hockey scored a 2-1 victory over fifth-seed Concordia-Moorhead in Saturday's night's MIAC Playoff Semifinal clash in Mendota Heights.
The No. 15-ranked Tommies (14-10-4) never trailed as they pushed their unbeaten streak to four (3-0-1).
Myers helped stop both Cobber power-play tries and has allowed just one goal in his last six periods.
Johnny Panvica scored an unassisted power-play goal late in period one and assisted on the game-winner. The freshman, the reigning MIAC Athlete of the Week, has scored eight goals and six assists in the last eight games.
St. Thomas scored just six power-play goals in its first 17 games this season. But they have exploded to score 13 times on the power-play in the last nine games.
St. Thomas will host the Sat. March 4 playoff title game in Mendota Heights against second-seed Augsburg, a 5-4 overtime winner over third-seed St. Mary's.
