W. Hoops has crisp game, ends UWL win string

Senior Lauren Fischer scored 17 points and No. 11-ranked St. Thomas (8-2) shot 56 percent from the floor, including 10-of-19 from 3-point range, in Friday's 76-38 women's basketball win over UW-La Crosse (7-3) on a neutral floor in Wisconsin Dells.
The Tommie starters outscored the Eagle starters 58-7. Hannah Spaulding scored 14 points and Lucia Renikoff scored 11, and the Toms had only nine turnovers.
UST raced to a 40-19 halftime lead as it ended UWL's six-game win streak.
The Toms play Lake Forest on Saturday (1 p.m.) to close the 2017 portion of their schedule.
