Women's Tennis tops Carleton, St.Olaf

The Toms closed their regular season with two wins over playoff teams. UST won 5-4 over Carleton on Friday and 8-1 on Saturday in Fridley against St. Olaf.
St. Thomas (15-2 on the season, 9-1 MIAC) will be the No. 2 seed in next weekend's MIAC playoffs if first-place Gustavus tops Carleton this week.
Caitlyn Bakke went 4-0 in singles and doubles on the weekend to lead the hard-fought wins.
Friday Story
Sophomores Caitlyn Bakke and Jenna Zimmerman pulled out close singles wins to tip the match as the visiting Tommies scored a 5-4 win Friday at Carleton in MIAC women's tennis.
St. Thomas (14-2 overall, 7-1 MIAC) swept the three singles matches and need third-set wins of 10-8 and 10-5 at Nos. 3-4 singles from Bakke and Zimmerman.
It was the first MIAC loss for Carleton (14-5, 7-1), ranked No. 12 in the region.
