Freshman pitcher gets MIAC weekly honor in SB

Freshman Kierstin Anderson-Glass on Monday was named MIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week after three strong outings on the team's spring-break trip to Clermont, Fla.
Anderson-Glass threw a five-hit shutout and froze the tying and winning runs in the last at-bat to lead Tommie Softball in the first of two Sunday win. UST topped UW-Whitewater, 1-0, and edged Hope (Mich.), 5-2, in a game she worked five innings. Anderson-Glass struck out eight and didn't walk a batter vs. Whitewater. She stranded two runners in both the sixth and seventh innings, the latter with two strikeouts to close the game.
She threw a four-hit shutout with five Ks to beat Whitworth on Sunday, and had a another shutout Monday morning in a 3-0 win over Fontbonne (Mo.).
On the season, the Inver Grove Heights native and Visitation High graduate has four shutouts, is 6-2, and has allowed just three walks with 56 strikeouts.
