Tommie Women's Cross Country has secured a return trip to nationals, as it put four runners in the top 30 at Saturday's 6,000-meter NCAA Regional race in Pella, Iowa.

Coach Joe Sweeney's Tommies, ranked No. 24 nationally, topped MIAC champion and No. 14-ranked Carleton by a 118-127 margin and outscored 29 other teams for first place at Saturday's 6,000-meter race in Pella, Iowa.

The top two teams automatically advanced, with one to three others from Saturday likely getting at-large bids when entire NCAA field is announced on Sunday. St. Olaf was third at 164 and Loras scored 180 for fourth.

UST senior Emily Gapinski placed seventh in 22:37 in a field of 205 finishers to lead the way.

Three teammates joined her on the All-Region team with top-35 places: junior Bridget McGivern placed 21st in 23:07; junior Alex Fossum was 24th in 23:11;  and senior Megan Terukina took 28th in 23:17.

Junior Kayla Janto was 38th in 23:34; senior Diane Hubbell was 40th in 23:38; and sophomore Megan Gossfeld placed 46th in 23:46.
