Volleyball sharp, secures MIAC title share

No. 9-ranked Tommie Volleyball hit .302 en route to Saturday's 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 road victory at Bethel.
Coach Thanh Pham's team (22-6 overall, 10-1 MIAC) shared the conference regular-season title with Augsburg. That marked St. Thomas' eighth consecutive solo or shared MIAC championship and is UST's lone conference crown of the fall season.
The Tommies have a first-round bye for the six-team MIAC Playoffs and compete Thursday at home in the semifinals.
Kelly Foley hit .500 with 10 kills and four blocks. Jill Greenfield had 21 digs and 12 kills. Taylor Lewis has 12 kills and 11 digs and hit .310. Sara Atkinson had 10 kills and hit .368. Whitney Abrahamson had 12 digs; and Maddie Reese had 28 assists and eight digs.
